Gift of Hope serves as the federally designated not-for-profit organization that coordinates organ and tissue donation and provides compassionate service to families of donors in the northern three-quarters of Illinois and northwest Indiana.
Since our inception in 1986, we have coordinated donations that have saved the lives of more than 29,000 organ transplant recipients, and improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of tissue transplant recipients.
Donation and Family Advocates are an integral part of our mission. They meet with families of potential donors on the most tragic day of their lives, and offer the opportunity to save lives through the priceless gift of organ donation. The primary function of the Donation & Family Advocate is to present the donation option to families, answer questions and inspire them to say yes to donation in a manner that supports Gift of Hope’s mission.

In order to fulfill our life-saving mission, Donation and Family Advocates need to be there whenever a potential donor passes away. Our team shares on-call coverage 7AM-7PM and rotating weekends through self-scheduling. You'll be scheduled on call for 40 hours a week to meet with families in crisis at hospitals throughout our service territory. Our team shares on call responsibility for weekends and holidays.
Compensation range for this position is $71,500 - $80,000 annually
